STAF works with artists and artist-led organisations to help them achieve a step change in their careers. Often this includes advocating for these artists in institutional spaces not used to their work, as well as negotiating any disconnect between their lived experience and the existing development, commissioning and funding models.

STAF works with artists whose practices tie into our core activities – the issues we are concerned with, the people we represent, and embedded injustice, discrimination and exploitation. STAF builds a bespoke package of support in consultation with the artist to ensure that their work can be delivered in a safe and sustainable way, whilst building allies and driving impact.

STAF currently supports the work of artists Le Gateau Chocolat, FK Alexander, Faggamuffin Bloc Party and HighRise Theatre.

Each artist has collaborated with the team now contained within STAF on their strategic development for a sustained period of time (between 2-5 years).  Their national presentation offer the opportunity for STAF to map conversations generated through activities and evaluate ways in which community building around ideas can increase their impact and the potential for change.
