Tian has lived in Manchester since 2019. His work is driven by social concerns such as race and class and their impact on communities. He is currently the Programme Development Lead at Something to Aim For. In 2025, Tian directed Syncopated the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse and Talawa Theatre co-production.
In 2026, he looks to gather stories from queer POC communities to create Code Switch by looking to the best parts of childhood through our love of fictional characters.
