Janet joined Something To Aim For as its first Executive Director, where she continues to build sustainable frameworks for supporting diverse artists. Her leadership focuses on addressing intersectional challenges such as race, class, health, and disability, integrating strategic planning, organisational development, and cross-sector collaboration to create equitable opportunities and lasting impact.
A firm believer in the arts as a platform for dialogue and community building, Janet draws on her creative practice and lived experience to inform her work. Her autobiographical play, Two Girls from Ngau Tau Kok, adapted into a BBC radio play, explores personal and societal narratives, resonating with audiences through its intimate storytelling. Her skills in deep listening and storytelling, honed through her involvement in Playback Theatre, further amplify the voices of under-represented communities.
Janet’s resilience as a cancer survivor and migrant in the UK enriches her perspective on fostering inclusion and systemic change. She holds MAs in Cultural Management and Buddhist Studies and serves as a Trustee of Birds of Paradise Theatre Company, a disability-led organisation in Glasgow.
